About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Mucovib Syrup is a syrup made by Vibcare Pharma in the respiratory and anti-asthmatic class. It brings together Bromhexine 2 mg, Menthol 0.5 mg, Terbutaline 1.25 mg and Guaiphenesin 50 mg. The syrup is packed as 100ml and is offered from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.

How it works

Bromhexine works on thick mucus, breaking it up so it clears from the airways. Terbutaline relaxes the muscles around the bronchial tubes and relieves bronchospasm, so breathing feels less tight. Guaiphenesin loosens phlegm and thins bronchial secretions to help them drain from the bronchial tubes, while Menthol gives a cooling feel in the throat and airways.

Used for

The syrup is used for cough with thick phlegm and for reversible bronchospasm seen with asthma, bronchitis and emphysema.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
