About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Clarivib 250 is a tablet made by Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet contains clarithromycin 250 mg, a macrolide antibiotic and anti-infective (antibacterial) medicine. The product is packed as 10x10 (Blister) and comes from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.

How it works

The medicine in Clarivib 250 works by stopping the growth of the bacteria that are responsible for the infection. By bringing the number of bacteria under control, it allows the body to clear the infection and the related symptoms to settle. It acts against susceptible bacteria only, so it is used when the infection is proven or strongly suspected to be bacterial.

Used for

Clarivib 250 is used for mild to moderate bacterial infections such as chest infection flare-ups in bronchitis, sinusitis, community-acquired pneumonia, pharyngitis or tonsillitis, skin infections, ear infection in children, certain disseminated mycobacterial infections, and Helicobacter pylori infection with duodenal ulcer disease in adults. Clarithromycin should be avoided in patients with known QT prolongation, ventricular arrhythmia (torsades de pointes), low potassium or magnesium, significant bradycardia, or those taking Class IA or III antiarrhythmics or other QT-prolonging drugs. In patients with coronary artery disease the doctor will weigh the possible risk of increased all-cause mortality one year or more after treatment against the treatment benefit, and myasthenia gravis may be made worse, so medical review is important.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
