Touxvib Cherry Junior Syrup relieves cough, runny nose, sneezing and nasal congestion due to the common cold and allergies. Main uses: temporarily relieves runny nose, sneezing and itching of the nose or throat due to the common cold; temporarily relieves itchy, watery eyes due to hay fever or other respiratory allergies; relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation; reduces swelling of nasal passages and relieves nasal congestion; temporarily relieves these symptoms due to hay fever or other respiratory allergies.

Common side effects of Touxvib Cherry Junior Syrup include drowsiness; excitability, especially in children; dizziness; dry mouth, nose or throat; nervousness; sleeplessness.

Each ingredient does a separate job in the syrup. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide acts on the cough centre in the brain to calm the urge to cough caused by minor throat and bronchial irritation. Chlorpheniramine Maleate blocks histamine and brings relief from a runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose or throat and itchy, watery eyes. Phenylephrine works on the blood vessels in the nasal passages, narrowing them so that swelling goes down and congestion is eased.

Must not be used by anyone now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) or within 2 weeks of stopping an MAOI drug. Must not be used with sedatives or tranquilizers without first consulting a doctor. Must not be used unless directed by a doctor if you have a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis, glaucoma, heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes or difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland. Must not be used for a persistent or chronic cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus), unless directed by a doctor.
