Touxlam Syrup helps relieve cough, blocked nose, runny nose and sneezing due to the common cold and allergies. Main uses: temporarily relieves runny nose; temporarily relieves sneezing; temporarily relieves itching of the nose or throat; temporarily relieves itchy, watery eyes; relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation.

Common side effects of Touxlam Syrup include marked drowsiness; excitability, especially in children; dry mouth; dizziness; nervousness; sleeplessness. Get medical help at once if you notice rapid or irregular heartbeat; difficulty in urination; severe restlessness or confusion.

Touxlam Syrup contains Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 10 mg + Phenylephrine 5 mg + Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Touxlam Syrup only as your doctor advises.

In this combination, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide acts on the cough reflex and reduces coughing from minor throat and bronchial irritation. Phenylephrine eases nasal congestion by reducing the swelling of the nasal passages. Chlorpheniramine Maleate counters the histamine that causes runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose or throat and itchy, watery eyes.

Must not be used if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. Must not be used for a persistent or chronic cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus). Must not be used unless directed by a doctor if you have a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis, glaucoma, heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes mellitus or difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland. Must not be taken with sedatives or tranquilizers without first consulting your doctor. Avoid alcoholic beverages and take care when driving or operating machinery as marked drowsiness may occur.
