About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Viglim MP1 is an oral anti-diabetic tablet from Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet has Glimepiride 1 mg, Pioglitazone 15 mg and Metformin 500 mg, in the anti-diabetic class. Supplied as Tablets, packed as 10x15 (Blister).

How it works

Glimepiride pushes the pancreas to release more insulin. Pioglitazone reduces insulin resistance in the liver and body tissues. Metformin reduces glucose made by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin. Together they support blood sugar control when diet and exercise alone are not enough.

Used for

Viglim MP1 is used with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Pioglitazone can cause or worsen heart failure; patients must be watched closely for signs such as rapid weight gain, breathlessness and swelling after starting the tablet and after any dose increase. If liver injury appears, pioglitazone must be stopped promptly and the patient assessed for its probable cause. Metformin can rarely cause lactic acidosis, and the risk is higher with kidney problems, age 65 or above, heavy drinking, contrast dye X-ray studies, surgery, low-oxygen states, liver problems and some other medicines. Glimepiride may cause severe low blood sugar and hemolytic anemia in G6PD deficiency.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
