Description
Hydruvia Syrup is an oral syrup from Vibcare Pharma's Grace division. The syrup contains Hydroxyzine as its active ingredient, at a stated strength of 10 mg, and belongs to the sedating antihistamine class. It is packed as 100ml.
How it works
Hydroxyzine acts on the body in two ways. It blocks histamine at H1 receptors, which brings down the allergic response that shows up as hives and itching of the skin. At the same time it lowers the activity of the central nervous system, so the mind settles, tension eases and a sense of calm and drowsiness follows. This calming action is also why hydroxyzine is used to settle patients before an operation.
Used for
Hydruvia Syrup is used for relief of anxiety and tension associated with psychoneurosis, as an added medicine in organic disease states where anxiety shows, and for itching due to allergic conditions such as chronic urticaria, atopic and contact dermatoses and histamine-mediated itching.
