About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Everfos Injection comes from Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division. It is an intravenous injection containing Iron Sucrose 20mg, a haematinic and anti-anaemic medicine. The product is packed as 1's.

How it works

In this formulation iron is held in a sucrose complex. After intravenous administration the complex separates into iron and sucrose, and the iron travels as a complex with transferrin to target cells, including the precursor cells that become red blood cells. There the iron is built into haemoglobin as the cells mature.

Used for

Its use is the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in patients with chronic kidney disease. Blood pressure has to be monitored during and after each administration, and observation for hypersensitivity is needed during and for at least 30 minutes following every dose. Personnel and treatment for serious hypersensitivity reactions must be immediately available when it is given.

Given only by a doctor or nurse.
