About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Made by Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division, Folpine Injection is an intravenous injection. Its active ingredient is Iron Sucrose 20mg. The medicine falls in the haematinic and anti-anaemic class and comes packed as 1's.

How it works

The injection works by giving iron straight into the bloodstream. Iron sucrose breaks apart into iron and sucrose once inside the body. Transferrin then carries the iron to erythroid precursor cells, where it becomes part of haemoglobin while red blood cells mature.

Used for

Doctors use it for the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in patients with chronic kidney disease. Blood pressure must be monitored during and following each administration, and the patient must be watched for hypersensitivity during and for at least 30 minutes after each dose. The injection is given only when personnel and treatment for serious hypersensitivity reactions are immediately available.

Given only by a doctor or nurse.
