Cremolam Plus Syrup is a laxative suspension used for occasional constipation and easier passage of stool. Main uses: relieves occasional constipation (irregularity); helps soften hard, dry stool; supports easier and more comfortable passage of stool; helps restore regular bowel habits in occasional irregularity.

Common side effects of Cremolam Plus Syrup include stomach cramps or abdominal discomfort; loose motions or diarrhoea; nausea or an unpleasant taste; anal irritation or discomfort; bloating or gas. Get medical help at once if you notice breathing difficulty or lipoid pneumonia if liquid paraffin is inhaled into the lungs; weakness, confusion or irregular heartbeat from electrolyte changes with overuse; severe allergic reaction with rash, swelling or breathing difficulty.

Its ingredients work together on irregularity from different directions. Milk of magnesia draws water into the bowel and softens hard stool. Liquid paraffin lubricates the stool and the bowel lining, so the stool passes with less effort. Sodium picosulphate stimulates the bowel wall to move the stool forward, which helps with an occasional sluggish bowel.

Must not be used if you have ever had an allergic reaction to this product or any of its ingredients. Must not be used in intestinal blockage, or with unexplained stomach pain, nausea or vomiting. Must not be used in severe renal impairment (severe kidney disease), as magnesium may build up in the body. Must not be used by people who have difficulty swallowing or an increased risk of aspiration, as inhaled liquid paraffin can cause lipoid pneumonia.
