About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Metprovib PR 50 is an oral tablet made by Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet contains Metoprolol 50 mg, which belongs to a class of medicines known as beta-blockers, or beta-1 selective adrenergic blocking agents. It is packed as 10x10 (Alu Strip) and is supplied by a Vibcare Pharma division.

How it works

The metoprolol in Metprovib PR 50 blocks beta-1 receptors in the heart. This slows the sinus rate and reduces conduction through the AV node, so the heart beats more slowly and with less force. Blood pressure comes down and the workload and oxygen need of the heart muscle are reduced.

Used for

Metprovib PR 50 is used to treat high blood pressure and angina pectoris, and after a heart attack to lower the risk of further heart problems, as advised by a doctor. Beta-blockers should be avoided in bronchospastic disease such as asthma or similar breathing conditions; see a doctor first in such cases.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
