Telmivib MCT 25 tablets combine metoprolol, telmisartan and chlorthalidone to lower raised blood pressure in adults. Main uses: treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, to lower blood pressure; lowering blood pressure also lowers the risk of stroke and heart attack linked to raised blood pressure; helps achieve blood pressure goals when a single drug is not enough; chlorthalidone part of the tablet also helps reduce fluid retention (oedema).

Common side effects of Telmivib MCT 25 Tablet include tiredness; dizziness; headache; slow heart rate; low blood pressure; diarrhoea or stomach upset. Get medical help at once if you notice very slow heart rate or heart block; worsening heart failure; breathing difficulty or spasm of the airways.

Each Telmivib MCT 25 tablet contains Metoprolol Tartrate 25 mg + Telmisartan 40 mg + Chlorthalidone 12.5 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Telmivib MCT 25 Tablet only as your doctor advises.

Metoprolol Tartrate slows the heart rate and lightens the work of the heart. Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II at its receptor, so blood vessels stay relaxed. Chlorthalidone makes the kidneys pass extra salt and water in urine. The three act on separate pathways to bring blood pressure down.

Must not be used during pregnancy or if you are trying to become pregnant; stop the medicine as soon as pregnancy is known and tell the doctor. Must not be used in severe slow heart rate, greater than first-degree heart block or sick sinus syndrome without a pacemaker; must not be used in cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure or systolic blood pressure below 100 mm Hg; and must not be used in anuria (no urine output) or in known allergy to sulfonamide-derived drugs or to any component of the tablet. Must not be used together with an ACE inhibitor; concomitant use of an ACE inhibitor and telmisartan should be avoided. Aliskiren must not be co-administered with telmisartan in patients with diabetes. Check with a doctor first if you have asthma or other airway disease, diabetes, kidney or liver disease, peripheral vascular disease or thyroid problems.
