Description

Manufactured by Vibcare Pharma, Cefdolam O is a tablet in which each unit holds Ofloxacin 200 mg and Cefpodoxime 200 mg. It is classed as an antibiotic and anti-infective product, as it brings together a fluoroquinolone antibiotic and a cephalosporin antibiotic in one tablet. The packing is 10x10 (Alu Alu), and the brand belongs to Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division.

How it works

Ofloxacin in Cefdolam O stops bacteria from copying and repairing their DNA, which prevents them from growing and spreading. Cefpodoxime acts on the bacterial cell wall, blocking its formation and weakening the bacteria until they break down. Both ingredients therefore help to deal with infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Used for

Cefdolam O is prescribed for bacterial infections due to susceptible organisms, such as community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, for which it is kept for patients who have no alternative treatment options, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, acute otitis media, urinary tract infections and uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
