Read our full guide: Rabeprazole: uses, dose, side effects and brands
Containing Rabeprazole 20 mg, Rabejem 20 is a tablet from Vibcare Pharma. The medicine falls in the proton pump inhibitor group of anti-ulcerants, and the product is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu) from Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division.
The way it works is simple: Rabeprazole stops the acid pump in the stomach lining cells from releasing acid, the final stage of acid production. With lower acid levels, damage in the food pipe and duodenum can settle, and the burning feeling of heartburn and reflux is reduced.
Rabejem 20 is used for short-term treatment and healing of erosive or ulcerative reflux disease, for maintaining that healing, for symptomatic reflux disease in adults and adolescents 12 years and older, for healing of duodenal ulcers, as part of H. pylori eradication, and for pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Symptom relief on this medicine does not rule out gastric malignancy, so further check-up and diagnostic evaluation may be needed.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
