Rosuvib Gold 10 capsules combine rosuvastatin, clopidogrel and aspirin, used in acute coronary syndrome to reduce heart attack and stroke risk. Main uses: for patients with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina or NSTEMI) to reduce the rate of heart attack and stroke; for patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) managed medically to reduce the rate of heart attack and stroke; in acute coronary syndrome the clopidogrel is used together with the aspirin in the capsule, as stated on the label.

Common side effects of Rosuvib Gold 10 Capsule include headache; nausea; muscle pain or aches (myalgia); weakness or tiredness (asthenia); constipation; stomach upset or indigestion. Get medical help at once if you notice bleeding, including serious, life-threatening or fatal bleeding; this combination raises bleeding risk, mainly from the stomach or gut and at puncture sites; unusual muscle pain, tenderness or weakness with dark-coloured urine (myopathy or rhabdomyolysis); yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine or other signs of liver problems.

The three parts act in different ways. Rosuvastatin blocks the liver enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which makes cholesterol, so LDL cholesterol in the blood comes down. Clopidogrel stops platelets from sticking together by blocking the P2Y12 ADP receptor, so a clot is less likely to form. Aspirin works on platelets through another route and adds to that antiplatelet effect, helping blood to flow through the arteries.

Must not be used by patients with active pathological bleeding such as peptic ulcer or bleeding in the brain. Must not be used in acute liver failure or decompensated cirrhosis. Must not be used by anyone allergic to rosuvastatin, clopidogrel, aspirin or any of the ingredients. Check with a doctor first: clopidogrel has a diminished antiplatelet effect in CYP2C19 poor metabolisers; genetic tests are available and a doctor may consider another platelet P2Y12 inhibitor. Check with a doctor first if there is a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding problems, liver, kidney or thyroid problems, or muscle pain; omeprazole and esomeprazole should be avoided, and the doctor must be told before surgery as the capsule may be stopped a few days beforehand.
