Telmivib CC 12.5 tablets contain telmisartan, cilnidipine and chlorthalidone and are used to lower raised blood pressure. Main uses: treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure in adults; used when a single medicine does not control blood pressure and a combination is needed; lowering raised blood pressure is part of overall care for the heart and blood vessels.

Common side effects of Telmivib CC 12.5 Tablet include dizziness; headache; back pain; diarrhoea or stomach upset; nausea or loss of appetite; muscle cramps or weakness. Get medical help at once if you notice injury and death to the developing fetus if used during pregnancy; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat (angioedema); marked low blood pressure, especially in patients low on salt or fluid.

This combination works in three ways. Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II at its receptor, allowing blood vessels to relax. Cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker, eases the vessel walls and lowers the resistance the heart works against. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that helps the kidneys pass extra salt and water in urine, reducing the fluid the blood vessels have to carry so blood pressure comes down.

Must not be used in pregnancy; if pregnancy is detected, the medicine must be stopped as soon as possible. Must not be used by patients with a known allergy to telmisartan, cilnidipine, chlorthalidone or other sulfonamide-derived drugs. Must not be used in anuria (no urine formation).
