TENLILAM M 500 TENELIGLIPTIN 20mg. IP + METFORMIN 500mg. IP

Tenlilam M 500 tablets combine Teneligliptin 20 mg and Metformin 500 mg as an adjunct to diet and exercise in type 2 diabetes. Main uses: adjunct to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus; helps lower raised blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are not enough.

Common side effects of Tenlilam M 500 Tablet include diarrhoea; nausea or vomiting; stomach pain or discomfort; headache; upper respiratory tract infection; low blood sugar (mainly when taken with insulin or a sulfonylurea). Get medical help at once if you notice lactic acidosis from metformin (rare but serious): weakness, muscle pain, breathing difficulty, sleepiness, stomach pain; pancreatitis: severe and persistent stomach pain that may reach the back; serious allergic reactions including swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat.

Teneligliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor; by holding back the enzyme that breaks down incretin hormones, it lets these hormones act longer, so insulin secretion rises and glucagon falls in a way that depends on blood glucose. Metformin belongs to the biguanide group and works mainly by reducing the glucose made in the liver and improving how the body responds to insulin. The two ingredients support each other in bringing down raised blood sugar.

Must not be used in patients with severe kidney impairment. Must not be used in patients with metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis. Must not be used by anyone who has had a serious allergic reaction to teneligliptin, metformin or any ingredient of the tablet. Not recommended for type 1 diabetes mellitus. Check with a doctor first if you drink alcohol heavily, have heart failure risk factors, are over 65 years, need contrast X-ray dye or surgery, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or use insulin or a sulfonylurea.
