Odoxicef O tablets combine Ofloxacin 200 mg and Cefpodoxime 200 mg for bacterial infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Main uses: bacterial infections of the respiratory tract in adults caused by susceptible bacteria; community-acquired pneumonia caused by susceptible bacteria; acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis caused by susceptible bacteria, reserved for patients who have no alternative treatment options; pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by susceptible bacteria; acute otitis media caused by susceptible bacteria.

Common side effects of Odoxicef O Tablet include nausea; diarrhoea or loose stools; headache; dizziness; vomiting; abdominal pain or cramps. Get medical help at once if you notice tendinitis or tendon rupture, especially of the Achilles tendon. Stop the medicine immediately at the first sign of any of these serious reactions, and fluoroquinolones must be avoided in patients who have experienced such a reaction before.; peripheral neuropathy (numbness, tingling or pain in the hands or feet); central nervous system effects such as confusion, anxiety, depression or hallucinations.

Ofloxacin works by stopping bacteria from copying and repairing their DNA, which halts their growth. Cefpodoxime works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall, so the bacteria are no longer able to hold together. Used together, the two ingredients act against a range of susceptible bacteria.

Must not be used in persons with a history of allergy to ofloxacin or any quinolone antibiotic. Must not be used in persons with a known allergy to cefpodoxime or to cephalosporin antibiotics. Must not be used in patients with a known history of myasthenia gravis. Check with a doctor first if you have ever had an allergy to penicillins or other antibiotics, as cross-allergy may occur. Check with a doctor first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney disease, have epilepsy or another seizure disorder, or if the patient is a child or teenager.
