A non-drowsy antihistamine medicine for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria. (Craun & Schury.) A safe and non-sedating medication that effectively reduces all seasonal allergic rhinitis symptoms in children aged 6-11 years. (Eli O Meltzer, 2004) Blocks the effects of histamine that is responsible for allergy. Shows statistically significant improvement in symptoms such as blocked nose, sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy nose/palate and/or throat, and itchy/watery/red eyes in pediatric patients with allergic rhinitis. (J Ngamphaiboon, 2005) Effectively treats moderate to severe seasonal allergic rhinitis symptoms. Less likely to cause drowsiness as compared to some older antihistamines.
