About the product
By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references
Cepovib S 1.5 from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division is an injection that contains Cefoperazone 1000 mg and Sulbactam 500 mg. It belongs to the class of cephalosporin antibiotics combined with a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This sterile injection is packed as 1's.
Cefoperazone works by blocking the formation of the bacterial cell wall, which kills the bacteria responsible for the infection. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor; it protects cefoperazone from enzymes that some bacteria produce to break it down, so the antibiotic stays active against those organisms.
Cepovib S 1.5 is used for infections such as lower respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, gynaecological infections, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, septicaemia and bone and joint infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
Given only by a doctor or nurse.
