About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

From Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division comes Zonalam S 1.5, an injection containing Cefoperazone 1000 mg and Sulbactam 500 mg. It is a cephalosporin antibiotic combined with a beta-lactamase inhibitor and is packed as 1.5gm.

How it works

Cefoperazone and sulbactam act together in this injection. Cefoperazone kills the infecting bacteria by blocking the formation of their cell wall. Sulbactam protects it by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes produced by some bacteria, which would otherwise break down cefoperazone and stop it from working.
