Yetzone 500MG Injection is a Ceftriaxone 500 mg injection used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. Main uses: treatment of lower respiratory tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of acute bacterial otitis media caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of skin and skin structure infections caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of bacterial septicaemia caused by susceptible organisms.

Common side effects of Yetzone 500MG Injection include pain, tenderness or induration at the injection site; warmth or tightness at the site after intramuscular injection; rash; diarrhoea or loose stools; raised liver enzymes (AST or ALT) on blood tests. Get medical help at once if you notice severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis; pseudomembranous colitis (severe diarrhoea during or after treatment); haemolytic anaemia.

This medicine acts on bacteria by preventing them from building their cell walls. The susceptible bacteria are then unable to survive and multiply, which allows the body to clear the infection. Being a cephalosporin antibiotic, it covers a range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms that show susceptibility to it, and it is administered under medical supervision.

Must not be used by anyone with a known allergy to ceftriaxone, its excipients or any other cephalosporin. Must not be used in premature neonates up to a post-menstrual age of 41 weeks, or in hyperbilirubinemic neonates. Must not be used in neonates who require calcium-containing intravenous solutions. Must not be reconstituted or diluted with calcium-containing solutions such as Ringer's or Hartmann's solution. Check with a doctor first if the patient has had an allergic reaction to penicillins or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
