CLARITHROMYCIN 250mg. IP

A broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic used for the treatment of various bacterial infections. Clarithromycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, helping stop the growth and spread of susceptible bacteria. It is well absorbed after oral administration, has good tissue penetration, and offers convenient twice-daily dosing, which may improve patient compliance. Clarithromycin has demonstrated excellent efficacy in respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy. Studies have shown high clinical success rates in community-acquired pneumonia and a favourable tolerability profile compared to erythromycin. It is also an important component of combination therapy for H. pylori infections.
