DOMPERIDONE 10mg. IP

A dopamine receptor antagonist used as a peristaltic stimulant and anti-emetic agent for dyspepsia, indigestion, epigastric pain, nausea, and vomiting. (DrugBank, 2024) DrugBank A unique gastrokinetic and antiemetic drug with rare central nervous system adverse effects, as very little domperidone crosses the blood-brain barrier. (J A Barone, 1999). An effective antiemetic agent in both children and adults, with clinical trials demonstrating improved gastric emptying, gastrointestinal symptoms, and quality of life in patients with diabetic gastroparesis. (Reddymasu S C, 2007). Chronic domperidone treatment significantly reduced gastrointestinal symptoms, hospitalizations, and accelerated gastric emptying to a normal rate, with an excellent long-term safety profile.
