Read our full guide: Methylcobalamin injection: uses, strengths and side effects
A neurotropic vitamin B12 injection, Nurinor 2500 Injection combines Methylcobalamin 2500 mcg with Benzyl Alcohol 2% v/v in an injection form. It comes under Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division and is in the Neuro & Neuropathy class. The pack is 1x2ml.
The main ingredient, Methylcobalamin, is the active form of vitamin B12 and is used by the body for normal nerve function and for keeping nerve fibres in good condition. When vitamin B12 is low, nerves may not work as they should and symptoms such as numbness, tingling or shooting pain can appear; methylcobalamin helps make up this shortfall. Benzyl Alcohol 2% v/v acts as a preservative that helps inhibit microbial growth in the solution; it has no role in nerve health, and the product's instructions for use after opening must be followed.
Nurinor 2500 Injection is used in vitamin B12 deficiency and in nerve conditions like peripheral neuropathy and diabetic neuropathy. During treatment of severe vitamin B12 deficiency, potassium levels may need to be monitored.
Given only by a doctor or nurse.
