Description
An oral suspension from Vibcare Pharma, Sucojem O Suspension carries Sucralfate 1gm along with Oxetacaine 20mg. The product belongs to the gastro anti-ulcerant and antacid group, is packed as 100ml and is supplied from Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division.
How it works
The two ingredients work in different ways. Sucralfate coats the damaged area in the stomach or duodenum with a sticky protective film that shields it from acid and enzymes. Oxetacaine is a numbing agent that acts on the surface of the lining and brings relief from the pain and burning that come with an ulcer or reflux.
Used for
Doctors prescribe it for active duodenal ulcer over the short term, and for gastric ulcer, acid reflux with inflammation of the food pipe and stomach burning or pain due to acid. Bezoar formation has been reported in patients with delayed gastric emptying or enteral tube feeding, so speak to a doctor in those situations.
