About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Thyrovib 12.5 is a tablet that contains Thyroxine 12.5 mcg as its active ingredient, belonging to the class of thyroid hormone replacement medicines. It is packed as 1's and is made by Vibcare Pharma.

How it works

Thyroxine works by supplying the same hormone T4 that the thyroid gland normally produces. When the gland does not make enough thyroid hormone, the body's metabolism, energy levels, growth and development slow down. Each tablet replaces this missing hormone and helps keep thyroid hormone levels in the normal range. In the body part of it is converted into the more active hormone T3, which carries out the daily work of thyroid hormone.

Used for

Thyrovib 12.5 is used as replacement therapy in hypothyroidism, including low thyroid hormone after thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine treatment and thyroid hormone deficiency present from birth.
