Thyrovib 50 is a Thyroxine 50 mcg tablet used for thyroid hormone replacement in hypothyroidism. Main uses: thyroid hormone replacement in hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid); replacement therapy in primary, secondary and tertiary hypothyroidism; congenital hypothyroidism; simple (euthyroid) goiter; as an adjunct to surgery and radioactive iodine therapy in the management of thyroid cancer.

Common side effects of Thyrovib 50 Tablet include headache; nervousness, irritability or trouble sleeping; tremor (shaking of the hands); palpitations (pounding or racing heartbeat); weight loss; sweating and heat intolerance. Get medical help at once if you notice chest pain or angina; rapid or irregular heartbeat; worsening of heart failure or heart problems in patients with existing heart disease.

Must not be used if there is untreated adrenal gland insufficiency; it must be corrected first. Must not be used in thyrotoxicosis (overactive thyroid).
