TORVIB 10 TORSEMIDE 10mg. IP

Torvib 10 tablets contain Torsemide 10 mg, a loop diuretic used for fluid retention in heart, liver or kidney disease and for high blood pressure. Main uses: treatment of fluid retention (edema) associated with heart failure; treatment of edema associated with kidney (renal) disease; treatment of edema associated with liver (hepatic) disease; treatment of hypertension, to lower raised blood pressure.

Common side effects of Torvib 10 Tablet include excessive urination.; dizziness; headache; nausea or upset stomach; nasal symptoms such as a runny or blocked nose; tiredness or weakness. Get medical help at once if you notice low blood pressure, dehydration or reduced blood volume; worsening of kidney function, including acute renal failure; changes in body salts and blood sugar (low potassium, low sodium, low magnesium, low calcium, high blood sugar, high uric acid).

Each Torvib 10 tablet contains Torsemide 10 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Torvib 10 Tablet only as your doctor advises.

Torsemide works at the thick ascending part of the loop of Henle in the kidney and blocks the sodium, potassium and chloride carrier there. More sodium, chloride and water then pass out in the urine, so swelling comes down and raised blood pressure is lowered.

Must not be used by patients with known hypersensitivity (allergy) to torsemide or to povidone. Must not be used by patients who are anuric (passing no urine). Must not be used in patients with hepatic coma. Check with a doctor first if you have low blood pressure, gout, low body salts or kidney problems.
