About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

From Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division, Selazole 400 is an anthelmintic tablet. Each tablet provides Albendazole 400 mg, a benzimidazole compound used against parasitic worms. Selazole 400 is packed as 20x2x1 (Blister) and is made by Vibcare Pharma.

How it works

The Albendazole 400 mg in Selazole 400 works by cutting off the sugar supply that the parasite needs to survive. Deprived of nourishment, the worm weakens and dies. Since the tablet holds one active ingredient only, Albendazole is responsible for the full anti-worm action.

Used for

Selazole 400 is used for the treatment of active parasitic cyst lesions in the brain caused by larval forms of the pork tapeworm, for hydatid cyst disease of the liver, lung and peritoneum caused by the larva of the dog tapeworm, and for intestinal worm infestations such as roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and pinworm. Blood counts are checked at the start of each 28-day treatment cycle and every 2 weeks during treatment, and liver enzymes before each cycle. Before treatment for brain cysts, the eyes must be examined for retinal lesions. Fits or nerve symptoms may appear after treatment starts and may need steroid and anticonvulsant therapy, and should be reported to the doctor at once.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
