About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Stoworm 400 is a tablet produced by Vibcare Pharma. It contains Albendazole 400 mg, a member of the anthelmintic class of medicines that act against parasitic worms. The product is packed as 20x2x1 (Blister) and is offered by Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division.

How it works

Albendazole 400 mg, the sole ingredient of Stoworm 400, stops the parasite from absorbing glucose, its main source of energy. The worm becomes weak and is cleared from the body. This is how the ingredient of Stoworm 400 helps in dealing with the worm.

Used for

For active parasitic cysts in the brain caused by larval forms of the pork tapeworm, for hydatid cyst disease of the liver, lung and peritoneum caused by the larval form of the dog tapeworm, and for intestinal worm infestations such as roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and pinworm, Stoworm 400 is used. During treatment, blood counts are monitored at the start of each 28-day cycle and every 2 weeks, and liver enzymes before each cycle. The eyes must be checked for retinal lesions before treatment for brain cysts, and fits, headache or nerve symptoms may appear after treatment starts and may need steroid and anticonvulsant therapy; report them at once.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
