Description

Bilalam M is supplied as tablets by Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division. Every tablet has Bilastine 20 mg and Montelukast Sodium 10 mg. The medicine is placed in the class of antihistamine and leukotriene blocker tablets, and it is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu).

How it works

Bilastine 20 mg works by blocking histamine, the substance the body releases during an allergic reaction that causes sneezing, itching and watery eyes. Montelukast Sodium 10 mg works by blocking leukotrienes, chemicals that lead to nasal swelling, extra mucus and a blocked nose. Each ingredient covers a different step of the allergy process.

Used for

This tablet is used for relief of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy watery eyes and a stuffy nose, and for itching and wheals of urticaria. For allergic rhinitis, the montelukast component is used only when other therapies have not worked adequately or are not tolerated. Serious neuropsychiatric events, including agitation, aggression, depression, sleep disturbances and suicidal thoughts and behaviour, have been reported with montelukast and may occur during treatment.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
