Description

Cefvib O WFR Dry Syrup is a dry syrup from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division. It contains Cefixime 50 mg and Ofloxacin 50 mg, and belongs to the Antibiotic & Anti-Infective (Antibacterial) class. It is packed as 30ml.

How it works

Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It disturbs the formation of the bacterial cell wall, so the bacteria die. Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It blocks the bacterial enzymes needed for DNA copying, so the bacteria cannot multiply. The two act at different points.

Used for

It is used for bacterial infections such as ear infection (otitis media), throat infection (pharyngitis and tonsillitis), uncomplicated urinary tract infection and airway infections. Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis should be treated with it only when the patient has no alternative treatment options. Stop the medicine and tell the doctor at once if tendon pain, numbness, tingling, confusion or severe anxiety appears.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
