Description

Jemcef O is a tablet from Vibcare Pharma. Every tablet provides Cefixime 200 mg together with Ofloxacin 200 mg. The medicine is placed in the antibiotic and anti-infective class and pairs a cephalosporin with a fluoroquinolone. It is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu) and is available from Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division.

How it works

The two ingredients attack bacteria in different ways. Cefixime, a cephalosporin, blocks the formation of the bacterial cell wall, causing the organism to break down. Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone, stops bacteria from copying and repairing their DNA, which halts their growth and spread. Both act on susceptible bacteria.

Used for

Doctors prescribe it for susceptible bacterial infections of the urinary tract, ear, throat and tonsils, and the airways, including acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
