Description

Jemcef O Dry Syrup (WFR) is made by Vibcare Pharma and comes from its Auspin division. Each unit contains Cefixime 50 mg and Ofloxacin 50 mg in a dry syrup form, under the Antibiotic & Anti-Infective (Antibacterial) class. The pack is 30ml.

How it works

In this combination, Cefixime acts as a cephalosporin antibiotic and attacks the bacterial cell wall so that the bacteria break down. Ofloxacin acts as a fluoroquinolone antibiotic and prevents the bacteria from copying their DNA and multiplying. The two ingredients work at two separate points in the bacteria.

Used for

Jemcef O Dry Syrup (WFR) is given for bacterial infections of the ear, the throat and tonsils, the urinary tract and the airways, when the infection is caused by bacteria sensitive to Cefixime or Ofloxacin. For acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, it should be used only in patients who have no alternative treatment options. Stop the medicine and inform the doctor at once if tendon pain, numbness, tingling, confusion or severe anxiety appears.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
