Description

Egaspas is a tablet made by Vibcare Pharma and supplied from its Evermed division, packed as 10x10 (Blister). The tablet pairs Dicyclomine Hcl 10mg with Mefenamic Acid 250mg. Its class is antispasmodic with pain-relieving action.

How it works

Mefenamic Acid lowers prostaglandin formation and in that way eases pain and inflammation. Dicyclomine Hcl acts on acetylcholine receptor sites and on the smooth muscle of the gut, so spasm and cramp are relieved and the muscle settles.

Used for

These tablets are used for pain and cramp from spasm of the gastrointestinal tract, for functional bowel and irritable bowel syndrome, for short-term relief of mild to moderate pain in patients aged 14 years and older, and for painful menstrual periods. As with other NSAIDs, Mefenamic Acid can lead to serious heart and blood vessel events such as heart attack or stroke and to bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestine, which may be fatal.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
