Description

A tablet from Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division, Fenaspas is packed as 10x10 (Blister). Each tablet provides Dicyclomine Hcl 10mg along with Mefenamic Acid 250mg. It is grouped in the antispasmodic and pain-relieving class of medicines.

How it works

In this tablet, Dicyclomine Hcl brings the spasm under control by relaxing the smooth muscle of the gut, through an anticholinergic effect as well as a direct action on the muscle. Mefenamic Acid provides the pain relief by inhibiting prostaglandin formation in the tissues, which reduces pain and inflammation.

Used for

Fenaspas tablets are meant for cramping abdominal pain caused by spasm of the gut, functional bowel and irritable bowel syndrome, mild to moderate pain in patients aged 14 years and older needing short-term therapy, and primary dysmenorrhoea. Serious heart and blood vessel events, including heart attack and stroke, and bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestine can occur with the Mefenamic Acid in this medicine, and these events can be fatal.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
