Spasjem tablets ease abdominal spasm and pain, combining Dicyclomine Hcl 10mg with Mefenamic Acid 250mg. Main uses: relief of abdominal pain and cramp caused by spasm of the gut; functional bowel disorder and irritable bowel syndrome with spasm and pain; relief of mild to moderate pain in patients aged 14 years and older when the course of therapy is short; painful menstrual cramps (primary dysmenorrhoea).

Common side effects of Spasjem Tablet include dizziness; dry mouth; blurred vision; nausea; drowsiness; weakness. Get medical help at once if you notice bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestine; heart attack or stroke; severe allergic reactions or serious skin reactions.

Each Spasjem tablet contains Dicyclomine HCL 10 mg + Mefenamic Acid 250 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Spasjem Tablet only as your doctor advises.

The two ingredients act in different ways. Dicyclomine Hcl works on the smooth muscle of the gut and on acetylcholine receptor sites, easing spasm and cramp. Mefenamic Acid cuts down the formation of prostaglandins, the substances in the body that carry pain signals and add to inflammation, so pain is reduced.

Must not be used by patients with glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, unstable cardiovascular status in acute bleeding, blockage of the gut or urinary tract, severe ulcerative colitis or reflux oesophagitis. Must not be used by nursing mothers or by infants below 6 months of age. Must not be used by patients allergic to mefenamic acid or other NSAIDs, or who have asthma, urticaria or allergic reactions after aspirin or other NSAIDs; must not be used in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
