About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Everfos Syrup (drug) is a syrup from Vibcare Pharma with Ferrous Ascorbate 30 mg and Folic Acid 500 mcg in it. It is a haematinic and anti-anaemic preparation, packed as 200ml. It is supplied from Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division.

How it works

Folic acid in the syrup supplies vitamin B9, which the body needs to make new red blood cells and DNA. Ferrous ascorbate provides iron for haemoglobin production, and the ascorbate component supports the absorption of that iron from the gut, so the body can use it to carry oxygen in the blood.

Used for

Doctors use this syrup for iron deficiency anaemia and folate deficiency anaemia, and during pregnancy to prevent and treat iron deficiency and supply folic acid. Folic acid alone is improper therapy in megaloblastic anaemia where vitamin B12 is deficient, as it may hide the blood signs while nerve damage gets worse; such cases need proper evaluation and B12 treatment. Accidental iron overdose can be fatal in young children, so keep the bottle out of reach and call a doctor or poison control centre immediately.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
