Ferlib XT tablets supply ferrous ascorbate and folic acid for iron deficiency and folate deficiency anaemia and use in pregnancy. Main uses: treatment of iron deficiency anaemia; treatment of folate deficiency anaemia; in pregnancy, for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency; in pregnancy, to supply a maintenance dosage of folic acid.

Common side effects of Ferlib XT Tablet include loss of appetite; nausea; constipation; diarrhoea; heartburn; vomiting. Get medical help at once if you notice allergic sensitisation has been reported with folic acid.

Each Ferlib XT tablet contains Ferrous Ascorbate 100 mg + Folic Acid 1.5 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Ferlib XT Tablet only as your doctor advises.

Ferrous ascorbate gives the body iron to make haemoglobin, and the ascorbate part helps the iron get absorbed. Folic acid is a B vitamin that helps in forming new red blood cells. Together the two ingredients support blood formation when the body's iron and folic acid levels are low.

Must not be used by anyone with a known allergy to any of its ingredients. Must not be used by patients with hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis or haemolytic anaemia (all iron compounds). Must not be used by patients with pernicious anaemia, as folic acid may hide its signs and symptoms. Folic acid alone is improper therapy for pernicious anaemia and other megaloblastic anaemias caused by vitamin B12 deficiency: it may bring about blood improvement while the nerve-related problems keep getting worse. Check with a doctor first if you have peptic ulcer, regional enteritis or ulcerative colitis. Keep out of reach of children under 6; accidental overdose of iron-containing products can be fatal in children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.
