Read our full guide: Itraconazole: uses, dose, side effects and brands
Available from Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division, Candilzo 200 comes in capsule form with Itraconazole 200 mg as its only ingredient. It is an anti-fungal preparation used for systemic and superficial fungal infections. Candilzo 200 is packed as 10x1x4 (Blister).
Itraconazole is an azole anti-fungal that interferes with ergosterol production in the fungus by inhibiting the enzyme lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase. Ergosterol is essential for the fungal cell membrane to stay intact. Without enough ergosterol the membrane becomes leaky, the fungus cannot multiply and the infection is held back.
This capsule is used in the management of blastomycosis, histoplasmosis, aspergillosis, onychomycosis, tinea infections and candidiasis.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.

Must not be used by anyone with a known allergy to itraconazole. Must not be taken with certain other medicines that are broken down by the same liver enzyme system (for example some heart, cholesterol, sedative and allergy medicines) because itraconazole raises their levels. Must not be used for fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) in patients with congestive heart failure or any signs of ventricular dysfunction; itraconazole can cause or worsen heart failure, so tell your doctor about any heart condition, history of heart failure or heart risk factors before treatment. Must not be used for fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) during pregnancy; women of childbearing age must use effective contraception during treatment and for two months after treatment ends, and pregnancy must be avoided. Check with a doctor first if you have liver problems, or if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
