Read our full guide: Itraconazole: uses, dose, side effects and brands
An antifungal capsule, Fungivice 100 (10 Pack) contains itraconazole 100 mg in each capsule. It falls in the azole antifungal class. The product is packed as 10x10 (Blister) and comes from Vibcare Pharma's Grace division.
Within the body itraconazole interferes with a substance called ergosterol that fungi require for their cell membranes. The loss of ergosterol weakens the membrane, the fungal cells break down and the growth of the fungus is stopped. Each capsule delivers 100 mg of itraconazole.
Fungivice 100 (10 Pack) is given for fungal infections such as blastomycosis, histoplasmosis and aspergillosis, and for dermatophyte or yeast infections of the skin and nails. Treatment can cause or worsen heart failure and can cause serious, sometimes fatal liver injury; a doctor should be seen promptly at any sign of swelling, breathlessness, tiredness, yellowing of the skin or dark urine.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
