About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Tazato Injection comes from Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division. The preparation brings together Piperacillin 4 gm and Tazobactam 0.5 gm in one injection. It is placed in the antibiotic and anti-infective (antibacterial) group of medicines, and it is packed as 4.5gm.

How it works

In this combination, Piperacillin is the antibacterial part; it attacks the bacterial cell wall and destroys susceptible bacteria. Tazobactam plays a supporting role by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes made by certain bacteria, enzymes that would otherwise break down Piperacillin. The two components together cover a range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.

Used for

Doctors use it for intra-abdominal infections, nosocomial pneumonia, skin and skin structure infections, female pelvic infections and community-acquired pneumonia in adults.

Given only by a doctor or nurse.
