About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Vibotaz 4.5 is an injection made by Vibcare Pharma and supplied from the Prima division. Each unit contains Piperacillin 4 gm and Tazobactam 0.5 gm as the two active ingredients. It belongs to the antibiotic and anti-infective (antibacterial) class of medicines and is packed as 1's.

How it works

Piperacillin works by stopping the formation of the bacterial cell wall, so susceptible bacteria are killed. Tazobactam has little action on bacteria by itself, but it blocks certain beta-lactamase enzymes that bacteria produce to destroy penicillins. By holding these enzymes in check, it allows Piperacillin to keep working against such organisms.

Used for

This injection is used for intra-abdominal infections, nosocomial pneumonia, skin and skin structure infections, female pelvic infections and community-acquired pneumonia in adults.
