DOLOLAM DT PIROXICAM 20mg. IP

Dololam DT tablets provide Piroxicam 20 mg for relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Main uses: relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis; relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Common side effects of Dololam DT Tablet include nausea; constipation; flatulence; abdominal pain; diarrhoea; headache. Get medical help at once if you notice increased risk of heart attack and stroke (cardiovascular thrombotic events); gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestines; liver injury (hepatotoxicity).

Each Dololam DT tablet contains Piroxicam 20 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Dololam DT Tablet only as your doctor advises.

In this tablet, Piroxicam inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2), the enzymes involved in prostaglandin synthesis. Prostaglandins sensitize nerve endings and act as mediators of inflammation in peripheral tissues, so lowering their levels eases pain, swelling and stiffness in affected joints.

Must not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity (including anaphylactic reactions or serious skin reactions) to piroxicam or any component of the tablet. Must not be used in patients with a history of asthma, urticaria or other allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Must not be used in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Use should be avoided in severe heart failure and in advanced renal disease unless the expected benefits are judged to outweigh the risk. Check with a doctor first if you have high blood pressure, kidney or liver impairment, dehydration or asthma without aspirin sensitivity, or if you are on blood pressure medicines, blood thinners or other NSAIDs; blood pressure should be monitored and kidney function checked regularly during treatment, especially if you have kidney or liver impairment, heart failure, dehydration or low blood volume.
