PIXIJEM DT PIROXICAM 20mg. IP

Pixijem DT is a Piroxicam 20 mg tablet used for relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Main uses: relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis; relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Common side effects of Pixijem DT Tablet include nausea; constipation; flatulence; abdominal pain; diarrhoea; headache. Get medical help at once if you notice increased risk of heart attack and stroke (cardiovascular thrombotic events); gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestines; liver injury (hepatotoxicity).

Each Pixijem DT tablet contains Piroxicam 20 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Pixijem DT Tablet only as your doctor advises.

The action of this tablet comes from Piroxicam, which inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) and reduces prostaglandin formation in peripheral tissues. Prostaglandins carry pain signals, sustain inflammation and raise body temperature, so less of them eases joint pain, swelling and stiffness.

Must not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity (including anaphylactic reactions or serious skin reactions) to piroxicam or any component of the tablet. Must not be used in patients with a history of asthma, urticaria or other allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Must not be used in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Use should be avoided in severe heart failure and in advanced renal disease unless the expected benefits are judged to outweigh the risk. Check with a doctor first if you have high blood pressure, kidney or liver impairment, dehydration or asthma without aspirin sensitivity, or if you are on blood pressure medicines, blood thinners or other NSAIDs; blood pressure should be monitored and kidney function checked regularly during treatment, especially if you have kidney or liver impairment, heart failure, dehydration or low blood volume.
