About the product
By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references
Pixivib Injection is an injection containing Piroxicam 40 mg per unit. It belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), used for pain relief and reduction of inflammation. The product is packed as 10's and comes from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.
Piroxicam works by blocking the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) and lowering prostaglandin production in the tissues. Since prostaglandins help carry pain signals and promote inflammation, reducing their level eases pain, swelling and fever. It is supplied in injection form for use when this route of administration is considered necessary.
Pixivib Injection is used for relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, along with the pain and inflammation linked to these joint conditions.
Given only by a doctor or nurse.
