Read our full guide: Liver tonic syrup: what it contains and how it is regulated
Available as tablets, Udovice 300 carries Ursodeoxycholic Acid 300 mg as its active ingredient. The medicine belongs to the hepatoprotective class and is packed as 10x15 (Blister) from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.
The active ingredient is a bile acid that reduces cholesterol production in the liver and the cholesterol content of bile. With less cholesterol in bile, radiolucent cholesterol gallstones can dissolve over time and bile moves through the bile passages more normally. At the same time, ursodeoxycholic acid helps liver cells withstand the injury caused by toxic bile acids that collect when bile flow is poor, and it supports bile flow in cholestatic conditions.
This tablet is prescribed for the dissolution of non-calcified cholesterol gallstones in people whose gallbladder is still functioning, and for cholestatic liver disorders including early primary biliary cholangitis.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
