Description

Cefnoxim O is a Vibcare Pharma tablet. It combines Cefixime 200 mg with Ofloxacin 200 mg in one dose form. As an antibiotic and anti-infective medicine, it pairs a cephalosporin antibiotic with a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. The pack is 10x10 (Alu Alu) and the brand is listed under Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division.

How it works

Cefixime, the cephalosporin part, acts by preventing bacteria from forming their cell wall, which makes them break apart. Ofloxacin, the fluoroquinolone part, blocks the copying and repair of bacterial DNA, so the bacteria cannot multiply. Working through these two pathways, the tablet acts against susceptible bacteria.

Used for

It is indicated for susceptible bacterial infections of the urinary tract, ear, throat, tonsils and airways, including acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
