Description

Lamato 10 comes from Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division and is presented as a tablet. Every tablet carries Atorvastatin 10 mg, which belongs to the statin group of medicines used for cholesterol. It is packed as 10x15 (Alu Alu).

How it works

The way Lamato 10 acts is through the liver. Atorvastatin blocks HMG-CoA reductase, the enzyme that the liver uses to build cholesterol. Less cholesterol is then made, and more LDL is taken up from the bloodstream, so LDL cholesterol in the blood falls when the tablets are taken with diet care.

Used for

Doctors prescribe Lamato 10 to lower LDL cholesterol in adults with primary hyperlipidaemia and in adults and children aged 10 years and above with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia, and to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with risk factors for coronary heart disease.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
