About the product
By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references
Ceftacab S 1.5GM Injection is offered by Vibcare Pharma from its Medanor division as an injection. Ceftriaxone 1 gm and Sulbactam 500 mg are the ingredients in each unit, and the product sits in the class Antibiotic and Anti-Infective (Antibacterial). Its pack is packed as 1.5gm.
Ceftriaxone is a cephalosporin antibiotic that disturbs the building of the bacterial cell wall, leaving the bacteria unable to survive and multiply. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that blocks the enzymes produced by some bacteria to break down antibiotics, and by doing so it supports the action of Ceftriaxone against those bacteria.
In clinical practice this injection is used for infections caused by susceptible bacteria, such as lower respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial otitis media, skin and skin structure infections, intra-abdominal infections and gynaecological infections.
Given only by a doctor or nurse.
